Narrowly daring to differ from all that we have heard, Before the Dawn haunt you to hear more of their new offering Deathstar Rising. Carefully crafting melo-death and tailoring it according to their gothic needs has resulted in anything but negative. What I haven’t experienced before (or maybe I have but it hasn’t stayed with me) is the harsh and clean vocals going together. If not for anything else I will definitely be remembering Before the Dawn for this vocal treat. Songs on this album prove a boon for the ears and I will return this favor by listening to each of their early releases. Deathstar Rising is an utterly delicious full-length by this Finnish four-piece band with a lot of intimacy in their music. They create an air of melancholy around you. Just breathe it.
